How this site handles your data.
This is a personal CV site. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no newsletter and no shopping cart. The short version: it collects very little, and it never sells anything to anyone.

Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which sections people read. It records things like page views, approximate location at country or city level, device type, browser and referring site.
Google Consent Mode v2 is configured so that for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage default to denied. In those regions no analytics cookies or advertising identifiers are set, and Google receives only aggregated, cookieless signals. Advertising personalisation is off, and this site runs no advertising.
If you would rather not be counted at all, any content blocker or your browser's "Do Not Track"/anti-tracking setting will stop it, and nothing on the site will break.
The AI career assistant
The chat bubble is an assistant built on n8n that answers questions about Samer's professional background. Please read this before using it:
- Messages you type are sent to a self-hosted n8n instance and on to a third-party large language model provider in order to generate a reply.
- Conversations may be retained so the assistant can be reviewed and improved.
- The assistant is not a person and its answers can be wrong. Nothing it says is a contractual commitment, a job offer, or professional advice.
- Please do not enter confidential information, personal data about other people, credentials, or anything you would not put in a first email to a stranger. For anything sensitive, email directly instead.
What is stored in your browser
No advertising or tracking cookies are set by this site itself. Two small entries are written to your browser's local storage, purely for your own experience:
- a short-lived cache of the latest articles, so the page loads faster on return visits;
- your choice if you pause the site's automatic motion, so it is remembered.
Google Analytics may set its own cookies outside the regions listed above. The chat widget may store a session identifier while a conversation is open.
Embedded and linked third parties
The site embeds a YouTube playlist using youtube-nocookie.com, which avoids YouTube's tracking cookies unless you press play. Article previews are fetched from thaka2.ai. Links to LinkedIn, YouTube, Hugging Face and elsewhere take you to services with their own privacy policies, which govern once you leave this site.
Contacting Samer
If you email or message on LinkedIn, that correspondence is kept for as long as needed to reply and to maintain a normal professional record. It is never added to a marketing list, because there isn't one.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the UAE's Personal Data Protection Law and the EU/UK GDPR — you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you, and object to processing. Email samer@thaka2.ai and it will be handled promptly and without charge.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Netlify, which processes standard server request logs including IP addresses for security and delivery. The chat backend runs on a self-hosted n8n instance.

If this page changes materially, the date below changes with it.
